How to Choose the Best Name for My Blog?

With many blog names and domains. Choosing a different and unique blog name is important.


You may have seen many passionate bloggers who have successful blogs and make a living with the money earned from them. And at last, you wanted to start a blog of your own and stuck with the blog name. Don't worry, I'm here to help you.

Let me tell you, creating a blog is easy but maintaining it is very difficult. You have to be passionate about the topic you are blogging about and most importantly, don't chase for money. Yes, your ultimate goal is to earn money but before that see whether you are passionate about the topic you are blogging and whether you can work even in bad mood or in late hours.

Above are some important points you have to remember before starting a blog and I think those are the basic points for a successful blog.

Now lets get to the point. You are stating a blog and wanted a blog name. People want a blog name which stands out from the rest.

You have two options, one is to have a name with your targeted keyword and other one is to have a unique blog name not having a targeted keyword in it.

If your main keyword is in your blog name, your site appears when people search for that keyword and a different blog name is recommended when you not blogging about a specific keyword. Like for example, I choose 'Fish Aquarium Hub' when I wanted to blog about Fish Aquariums only but I choose 'Fish World' when I wanted to blog about Fish and its wide range of topics and not only about Fish Aquariums. So, know the difference and choose the perfect blog name.

I always prefer for a brand name and as you can see my blog name 'Hash, the Blogger.', here I have a brand name with my name. So If people like my posts, they may search my name and if they found my article useful, they may search the blog post title with my name.

Ok, that's all for branding. So, whatever blog name you choose, either a different name or a keyword based name, it has to become a brand.

Ways to Choose the Blog Name:

You can use your own creativity to choose your blog name or use blog name generators and domain name registrars. These blog name generators give different blog name ideas. Remember, your domain name is you blog name, so after choosing your blog name look whether that domain is available or not. Even domain registrars like GoDaddy and BlueHost recommend other domain name ideas related to your searched domain name.

Some of the blog name generators I recommend are,

Those two generators are enough to get few ideas about your blog name. You can use those generated names and mix with your own word. Like if they generated 'I like Blogging' you can change it to 'I Like to Blog' or any similar name.
